Rain Chance During Your Photo Session
Pensacola Beach Photographers are no strangers to summer afternoon thunderstorms. It is an hourly check of the weather radar whenever we have photo sessions on the beach planned. Summer afternoons on the beach are unpredictable. There are almost always daily pop-up thunderstorms somewhere in the vicinity of Pensacola.
Pensacola Beach Engagement Photos
Danielle booked this photo session on Pensacola Beach with plenty of time to plan outfits and locations. But what is impossible to predict is the weather. A week before the session, Danielle texted concerned about the weather forecast and asking about a Plan B in case of rain. Well, there’s nothing quite comparable when you want engagement photos on Pensacola Beach. And I’ve photographed enough family beach sessions to know that you can’t always trust the weather radar on a summer afternoon near Pensacola. My answer is always to keep an eye on the weather but not to change plans until 2-3 hours before the session time. The storms almost always blow over and like this day, we are left with an amazing sunset.
Postponing a Photo Session Due to Rain
If your dreaming of photos on Pensacola Beach during your vacation, it is always best to book your session towards the beginning of your stay. That way if plans do need to change, you still have days available. Booking a photo session at the beginning of your vacation rather than at the end also helps avoid sunburns in your photos. The day of your session, I will be in communication with you and I will be watching the weather radar.
For this Pensacola Beach engagement photo session, I contacted Danielle the morning of the session and it was raining. There was a small chance of rain the remainder of the day but it looked like the sun might peek through in the evening. We decided to go ahead and meet at the designated time. There was a small blip of rain on the radar that was concerning but it actually disappeared by the time we made it to the beach. I have only actually had to change plans for a few couples. Most of the time, the bad weather clears out just in time to have a beautiful, fun photo session.
Trusting Your Photographer
I’m so glad that Danielle and Kyle trusted me to move forward with the photo session even though the weather didn’t seem ideal. It turned out to be a beautiful evening and we created some stunning images for them.
