University of West Florida Theatre Program
Yay! The theatre students reached out to me AGAIN! I call them my theatre kids. For the last several years I’ve had the opportunity to capture this amazing group of students who have spent the last four years pouring their blood, sweat and tears into their craft. Pensacola has such talented people active in the arts. These students chose to make Pensacola their home while completing their degree programs. They bring talent from all parts of the country. The University of West Florida Theatre program trains students in technical design, costuming, acting and musical theatre. Pensacola Little Theatre
We are blessed with a rich theatre community in Pensacola. We have so many great opportunities to see great shows. Every time my husband and I have the chance to catch a show we are blown away by the talent. The Pensacola Little Theatre offers classes for children through adults. Auditions for their shows are open to the public to participate and are volunteer based. There are also opportunities for volunteering with costuming, building sets/props and ushering if you would like to be a part behind the scenes. Be sure to check out their current shows.
PenArts
PenArts is an arts community providing dance, music and theatre training to under-served youth in Pensacola. In addition to offering professional shows at The Gordon Community Art Center they have a monthly “Artist Showcase” with amazing artwork (available for purchase) from a variety of local artists. The owner has a heart for Pensacola and the arts and brings obscure and thought-provoking performances to our town.
Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre
The Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre is a local theatre company that performs dinner theatre in venues in Pensacola and the surrounding areas. Their interactive style of including the audiences makes for a laugh out loud evening of fun. Be sure to check out their upcoming shows.
Shining Light Players
The Shining Light Players are a local theatre troupe that performs regularly at The Rex Theatre in downtown Pensacola. They produce original plays and musicals and also use local talent in their performances. Check out their audition schedule and upcoming performances.
