Hey there, beach-loving families! If you’re heading to Navarre Beach or Pensacola Beach for a family vacation, you’re in for a treat! In this blog post, I’ll give you the lowdown on making your family photoshoot a super enjoyable, laughter-filled experience. Here are 3 helpful family beach photo tips.

  1. Give Yourself Time!

First things first – give yourself some breathing space. Make sure to have your outfits ready, steamed, and laid out the day before or in the morning. And here’s a pro tip: add an extra 30-60 minutes to your getting-ready time. No one wants to feel rushed, right? Being ready early ensures you won’t be stressed out, and if everyone’s relaxed and happy, that’s exactly how your photos will turn out – relaxed and happy!

And here’s a little secret (we’ve all been there): try not to get annoyed if someone’s a bit slow – after all, the whole point of this day is to enjoy your family and have a blast!

  1. Be Well-Rested and Fed

Now, let’s talk energy levels. Don’t plan an action-packed day leading up to your photoshoot. You don’t want your little ones to be pooped before you even start! Since most sessions happen in the late afternoon or evening, make sure everyone is well-rested and has had a good meal. Hangry family members? Not a good look for the camera. Don’t forget the basics – brush those teeth and tidy up those faces!

  1. During Your Session

Alright, here’s the magic part. The best family photos come from just being yourselves, no scripts or poses are required. I will give you some gentle guidance when needed, but mostly, it’s about your family being authentic.

If your kids are calm and a bit shy, that’s cool. Snuggle them, stroke their faces, and sway together. If they’re bouncing off the walls with energy, throw ’em in the air, go exploring together, play a game of tag, or tickle each other silly. Just be yourselves – authentic is where the real moments are at!

And remember, it’s perfectly okay to snuggle and show some love. Give someone a sweet kiss on the cheek, hunt for seashells, flowers, or leaves together, laugh, giggle, joke around, embrace, smooch, snuggle, play. All these moments will help capture your family’s love and genuine beauty.

If you’re ever not sure what to do, just get close to someone and snuggle them. The love and connection will shine through in the photos.
